Role Summary: The Country Manager is the senior leader of the JuanHand business line in the Philippine operations, with full accountability for P&L performance, commercial growth, brand positioning, and market leadership. This is a builder’s role and requires a commercially sharp leader — the ideal candidate combines sharp business instincts with the ability to identify new opportunities, build strategic alliances, strengthen market presence, and help shape products based on customer and market demand, and grow a brand that Filipino consumers and partners trust. The incumbent will play a critical role in expanding the business, and ensuring products remain competitive and relevant in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Leadership and P&L Ownership o Own the full P&L of the Philippine entity end-to-end — from revenue generation and
cost management to portfolio quality and profitability milestones. o Set the business line’s strategic direction and annual operating plan, translating regional
targets into clear, executable priorities. o Drive performance across core metrics: loan disbursement volume, active borrower
growth, net revenue, and credit loss ratios. o Allocate resources decisively across business units, balancing short-term results with
long-term market positioning. o Build a culture of ICED Tea — where every function understands its contribution to the
bottom line. • Business Development
o Own the BD pipeline from prospecting to close — identifying, qualifying, and converting high-value partnerships that drive borrower acquisition and revenue.
o Forge strategic alliances with banks, e-wallets, e-commerce platforms, and other business to expand the company’s reach.
o Develop and lead co-lending, embedded finance, and white-label arrangements that unlock new funding and distribution channels.
o Negotiate and close commercial agreements at senior levels, structuring deals that create sustainable, mutual value.
o Translate market intelligence — competitor moves, regulatory shifts, emerging segments — into actionable BD opportunities.
• Product, Credit and Risk o Partners with HQ Business Heads for product development and refinement of lending
products suited to the Philippine market (consumer, MSME, salary-based, or digital credit).
o Identify upsell / cross-sell opportunities through current products o Champion the use of alternative data, digital channels, and AI-driven underwriting to
expand financial access. o Support go-to-market launches, pricing strategy, and product adoption plans
• Branding and Market Position o Champion the company’s brand in the Philippine market — ensuring consistent
positioning, tone, and visibility across all consumer and partner touchpoints. o Build brand equity by leading initiatives around trust, financial literacy, and community
engagement — particularly relevant in a regulated lending environment. o Ensure the brand narrative is aligned with the company’s mission and resonates with the
Filipino consumer’s financial aspirations. • Stakeholder Engagement
o Represent the company at industry forums, investor roadshows, and high-level partner meetings as the primary commercial ambassador.
o Maintain strong relationships with banking partners, technology vendors, and funding partners.
o Serve as the public face of the company in the Philippine market across media, industry forums, and partner engagement.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 15–20 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior P&L or country management role.
• Deep expertise in consumer lending, digital financial services, or fintech — preferably in the Philippine or Southeast Asian market.
• Demonstrated track record of scaling a lending or financial services business from growth to maturity.
• Strong working knowledge of BSP and SEC regulations governing lending and digital finance in the Philippines.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams of 100+ employees and build organizational capability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Why Join JuanHand?
