Description
Our client is looking for a Country Manager to lead their in-country affiliate. You will be accountable for its commercial development, operational structure and financial results. You will run day-to-day business operations, grow the business, attract new partners, manage supplier relationships and raise customer satisfaction. This is a final-decision-making role, accountable to the Management, reporting to the Regional General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Delivery
- Manage the Operations Department and ensure projects are delivered to the required standards
- Direct involved parties to ensure quality control, HSE and monitoring across all projects
- Direct and manage contract development from beginning to end
- Define project success criteria and communicate them to all parties throughout the project life cycle
- Manage the O&M Manager to ensure performance against SLAs and KPIs
- Ensure the smooth running of projects while keeping employee turnover low
- Apply and uphold QHSE policies and procedures
Business and Commercial Development
- Develop and execute a commercial development strategy for the country
- Identify and propose business deals by reaching out to potential partners and exploring opportunities
- Grow new business and existing accounts through business development research
- Build and maintain customer relationships and the related communication documents
Financial Management
- Take full P&L accountability for the affiliate
- Define and implement annual budget plans and report regularly to headquarters
- Review progress with the Regional GM and confirm budgets comply with the initial costing
- Review and monitor cash flow and financial statements
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, coach, mentor and motivate senior and middle managers and contractors
- Oversee the delegation of tasks and responsibilities to their teams
- Develop and manage all departments to achieve operational and strategic goals
- Identify technical training needs and on-the-job coaching for senior and middle managers
- Build one cohesive team focused on successful business operations
Government, Legal and Representation
- Represent the company externally with government, statutory and regulatory bodies, and business partners
- Identify the country's legal and regulatory requirements and flag risk areas in agreements
- Develop and implement internal systems for logistics, commercial and financial information flows, in coordination with headquarters
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Telecommunications
- At least 15 years of related experience, including 10 years in a similar managerial position
- Excellent managerial skills and strong technical knowledge
- Fluency in French and English
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel and flexibility to work long hours
Nice to Have
- MBA or Master's in Engineering
- PMP certification
