Hourly Rate:

AE-RA-Tuteur / TA-RA-Tutor : $31.89 ou/or $50.25 (2024-2025)

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.

These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Requirements and Nature of Work:

Nature of Work:

  • Contact with students: The TA will be required to attend class to assist with the running of in-class activities, aiding the students therein.

  • Preparation: This in-class involvement will require preparation prior to the class to ensure overall comfort with the material and activities.
  • Grading: The TA will assist with some of the grading of student work (short-answer style questions).

Requirements:

  • Graduate-level course in biostatistics, and corresponding comfort with statistical techniques (descriptive analysis, parameter estimation and hypothesis testing as well as nonparametric tests, power calculation and regression modeling).

  • Comfort with these topics, as well as broader data management in at least one statistical software or programming language (e.g., R or SAS).

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), with a particular emphasis on the communication of statistical results and concepts.

  • Preferred qualifications: experience with both R and SAS is considered an asset.
