Job Summary
Responsible for fleet operations which includes acquisition, maintenance, disposal, and tracking of all business vehicles and related equipment. Negotiates and authorizes contracts for fleet purchases and leases. Prepares specifications for equipment to be purchased or modified. Arranges for maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles and for replacement units while vehicles are being repaired. Recommends disposal of vehicles through trade-in or salvage, based on records and inspections. Conducts/participates in safety training and ensures compliance with safety regulations.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Oversees the acquisition and disposal of fleet units.
- Manages the administration of fleet maintenance, registration and subrogation programs.
- Manages the administration of fuel programs including issuing, replacing and canceling cards as needed.
- Gathers and compiles data required for annual fleet planning, vendor RFPs and function and LoB fleet requests.
- Develops and applies administrative policies and procedures for fleet and related repair and preventative maintenance operations.
- Reviews and communicates data related to costs and trends related to fleet. Uses data to support decisions and recommendations.
- Prepares reports with charts and graphs as well as ad hoc requests.
- Provides support for internal customers and various vendors.
- Manages and trains associates; coordinates work and evaluates performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years experience in fleet management.
- Experience interpreting technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.

- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
- Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification.
- Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Environmental Job Requirements
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
