Management Level:
M2Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance of equipment and processes within the Processing Maintenance and Refrigeration departments. This role oversees maintenance supervisors and team members, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures equipment reliability through effective planning, execution, and maintenance strategies.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with contractors, vendors, and engineering teams on equipment installations and modifications; troubleshooting complex technical issues; and managing highly automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics. The Maintenance Manager also supports maintenance training programs, budget planning and oversight, workforce scheduling, asset management, and operational decision-making while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support maintenance supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of processing and refrigeration equipment.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and engineering teams on equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, automation, and refrigeration issues.
- Manage and maintain highly automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
- Coordinate and support maintenance training and development programs for team members.
- Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets and capital projects.
- Oversee maintenance schedules and staffing to support production needs.
- Ensure necessary parts, tools, and assets are available and properly maintained.
- Provide data and recommendations to support business and operational decisions.
- Promote compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
- 5+ years of maintenance supervisory or maintenance management experience.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulics
- Refrigeration systems
- Industrial automation
- Preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems preferred.
