Description
Established and growing New Jersey plaintiff-side personal injury firm is seeking a Director of Law Firm Operations to work directly with firm leadership and take ownership of the firm's day-to-day operations. This is not a typical administrator position, you will have direct access to partners and significant authority over people, systems, technology, workflow and firm operations. We are looking for a high-energy operator and problem solver, someone who identifies what needs to be done, develops a solution, implements it and follows through without requiring constant direction. The objective is simple: build and run an efficient operation that allows the attorneys to focus on clients, cases, litigation and growth.
Responsibilities Include:
- Day-to-day firm operations
- Staff management, hiring, training and accountability
- Case-flow and workflow efficiency
- Intake operations and client onboarding
- KPIs, dashboards and management reporting
- Technology, automation and AI implementation
- SOPs and process improvement
- Vendors, expenses and administrative functions
- Cross-office coordination and special projects
- Identifying problems before they reach the partners—and solving them
Who We're Looking For:
You may currently be a COO, Director of Operations, Firm Administrator, Practice Administrator, Legal Operations Manager, Senior Office Manager or Managing Paralegal who is ready for broader responsibility. We care less about your current title than your ability to take ownership and get things done. The ideal candidate will be decisive, organized, resourceful and comfortable holding people accountable; they will see a problem and think, “I'll handle it.” Further, they will be someone who can move from solving today's operational issue to building the systems that prevent it from happening again.
Successful candidates will have:
- 7+ years of law firm operations or management experience
- Strong people-management and leadership skills
- Experience creating systems, processes and accountability
- Comfort with technology, data and automation
- Excellent judgment and a strong sense of ownership
- Plaintiff personal injury experience strongly preferred
- High-volume and/or multi-office law firm experience a plus
*All inquiries will be handled confidentially.
