Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Structures:
- Design buildings and other structures, focusing on functionality, safety, and aesthetics.
- Create plans and blueprints that outline the layout, materials, and specifications.
- Create conceptual drawings, 2D layouts, sketches, and 3D renders based on project briefs and requirements.
- Create schedules for finishing and produce permit drawings.
- Develop IFC (Issued for Construction) architectural drawings and detailed documentation.
- Generating as-built drawings and produce take-off drawings.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
- Review architectural drawings from external consultants.
- Translate client requirements into feasible design solutions.
- Prepare meeting minutes and share with respective members.
3. Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and building codes.
- Ensure that designs comply with local regulations and safety standards.
4. Project Management:
- Oversee the entire construction process from planning to completion.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the project runs smoothly and stays within budget and schedule.
- Collaborate on design and project coordination with other disciplines such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Structural, and Geotechnical.
5. Problem Solving:
- Provide solutions to complex design and construction challenges.
- Address issues related to structural integrity, environmental impact, and sustainability.
- Create visual design representations using computer-aided design (CAD), Revit software and hand sketches.
- Design presentations to clients and stakeholders, explaining concepts and gathering clients’ feedback.
- Aid in selecting samples for finishing materials.
- Staying updated on trends, materials, and technologies in the industry.
- Integrate sustainable practices and innovative solutions into created designs.
- Visit construction sites, conduct on-site supervision and inspection to verify construction aligns with project drawings and specifications.
- Address any issues immediately that arise during construction and implement quality control measures.
9. Legal and Contractual Obligations:
- Manage contracts, bids, and negotiations with clients and contractors.
- Ensure that all parties adhere to legal and contractual agreements.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain licensure and stay informed about advancements in architecture and design.
- Closely monitor the progress of projects according to the program of work or project schedule.
- Track key milestones, deadlines, and the overall timeline to ensure that the project stays on track.
