POSITION OVERVIEW

Hanwha Energy USA is seeking a Business Development & Planning Associate to help advance its data center business and related energy infrastructure initiatives. Working closely with the team head, this role will coordinate day-to-day project activities, track deliverables, and support business planning, budgeting, and management reporting.

The successful candidate will work across Hanwha affiliates and development, commercial, engineering, finance, and legal teams to keep work moving, identify issues early, and prepare clear information for decisions. This position offers opportunities to take on increasing responsibility as the business grows.

The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management.  All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate project execution: Translate agreed priorities into action plans with clear owners, deliverables, and deadlines. Organize project meetings, document decisions, and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Maintain project visibility: Keep schedules, milestone trackers, and issue logs current. Identify dependencies, investigate delays, and escalate matters requiring management decisions with a clear explanation of their impact.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate inputs and follow-up across Hanwha affiliates, internal teams, and external partners to advance shared initiatives.
• Support business planning and budgeting: Consolidate team inputs into annual business plans and budgets. Track progress and spending against approved plans, working with responsible teams to explain variances.
• Prepare management reporting: Draft concise presentations and project updates covering progress, budgets, risks, next steps, and decisions required. Check supporting information for accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate internal approvals: Maintain approval schedules and submission checklists, assemble supporting materials, and track outstanding inputs for development reviews and investment approvals.
• Support transaction readiness: Coordinate document requests, data-room updates, and due diligence schedules with development, finance, and legal teams.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2–4 years of relevant experience in project coordination, business planning, consulting, or a related role.
• Experience coordinating assignments involving multiple teams and following deliverables through to completion.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Ability to turn complex information into clear written summaries, presentations, and actionable next steps.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to organize data and perform basic financial analysis.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in energy, data centers, infrastructure, or another project-based business.
• Familiarity with project budgets, development milestones, and financial concepts such as capital expenditure, operating costs, and cash flow.
• Experience working across business units or supporting management reporting and internal approval processes.

 

COMPENSATION: $130,000 - $145,000 salary
