Job Purpose
Lead regionalization and product management activities for centrifugal compressors, ensuring successful product development, launch, localization, and lifecycle support. Drive product competitiveness through continuous improvement in quality, reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Market Requirements
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Application Engineering teams to understand market trends, customer needs, and application requirements.
- Translate VOC and regional market requirements into product specifications and development objectives.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and product analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and product differentiation.
- Support product roadmap development and business growth initiatives.
New Product Development Execution
- Lead centrifugal compressor regionalization and NPD projects from concept through product launch.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NPD processes, design standards, and project milestones.
- Plan and execute prototype builds, qualification testing, reliability validation, and system verification activities.
- Support design reviews, product safety reviews, certification activities, and technical documentation preparation.
- Drive technical risk assessment, issue resolution, and product readiness for launch.
Customer & Application Support
- Work closely with customers, Sales, Marketing, and Application Engineering teams to understand application requirements and translate VOC into engineering requirements.
- Support feasibility studies, product selection, performance evaluation, testing, and validation activities.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customer application issues.
Product Lifecycle Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead engineering changes, product maintenance, and lifecycle management activities.
- Drive product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support localization and regionalization programs in collaboration with global engineering teams.
- Analyze field performance and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
Manufacturing & Product Launch Support
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Service teams to ensure successful product launch, production readiness, and issue resolution.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and manufacturing-related issues.
- Drive improvements to enhance production efficiency, quality, and supply chain robustness
Global Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Work closely with global engineering teams and suppliers to support product development and localization activities.
- Share best practices, lessons learned, and technical knowledge across teams.
- Provide technical support to Operations, Sales, and Application Engineering teams.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Energy & Power Engineering, Turbomachinery, or related fields
- More than 10 years (BS) or 7 years (MS) working experience in centrifugal compressors or turbomachinery.
Requirements and Attributes
- Proven experience in new product development of centrifugal compressors.
- Deep understanding of centrifugal compressors and turbomachinery design.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, including system principles, electrical integration, and centrifugal compressor applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership and execution ability.
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Effective communication skills in English.
