What you'll do...
Role summary:As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role requires ownership of the full software lifecycle, from design and coding to deployment and maintenance, applying cloud-native principles to enhance system resilience and agility. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions. Your expertise will drive innovation, ensure engineering excellence, and support continuous improvement aligned with business objectives and technical standards.

The EDF Team develops and maintains mission-critical systems for the world’s largest retailer. This group designs, implements, and tests code changes tailored to specialized business needs while collaborating across functions to monitor and resolve production issues. The team emphasizes technical excellence, problem-solving, and continuous improvement to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. Members influence best practices that enhance system performance and transform business operations. The team fosters innovation and accountability, ensuring solutions align with key business objectives and support long-term platform evolution in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
What you'll do:
- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and alignment with architectural best practices.
- Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components using multiple programming languages.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and track success metrics.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to apply data-driven decision making to define success metrics and optimize engineering processes.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions to promote technical excellence and sustainability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
