As a Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimising supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy specific to the values and needs of DeterTech
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, industry trends, and emerging technologies in forensic equipment, surveillance systems, and related materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define procurement requirements and develop sourcing plans aligned with the company's objectives and technological advancements
Supplier Discovery, Selection, and Evaluation:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, reliability, technical expertise, and adherence to industry standards and regulations
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and service level agreements
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans to optimize supplier performance and mitigate risks
Cost Reduction:
- Analyse spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction through negotiation, volume discounts, strategic partnerships, and process optimisation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining the quality and reliability of products and services.
- Monitor and track cost reduction targets and metrics to demonstrate measurable results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient logistics and setup of supply lines
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure timely delivery and availability of critical equipment and materials
- Identify and address logistical challenges, such as customs regulations, security protocols, and international shipments, to ensure seamless procurement operations
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies, including JIT principles, safety stock levels, and reorder points, to optimize supply chain efficiency and minimise stockouts
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to manage long lead times and ensure the timely availability of critical equipment and materials
- Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and industry forecasts to proactively address potential supply chain disruptions and mitigate risks
- Utilise your expertise in SAP MRP or similar systems to set up and configure procurement and supply chain modules tailored to the unique requirements of DeterTech
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems and troubleshoot technical issues
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize system utilisation and efficiency
Staff Training:
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the procurement and supply chain knowledge and skills of team members
- Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to forensic technology and surveillance equipment
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the procurement team
