About Electrum
Electrum is building an integrated electric-mobility ecosystem in Indonesia, combining electric motorcycles, battery-swapping stations, and connected technology.
The Role
You will lead the training and capability-development function for Electrum’s automotive and operational teams. You will translate business priorities into competency standards, structured learning programmes, and measurable improvements in operational performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining training strategy, team management, technical-training governance, and field implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the annual training strategy, roadmap, calendar, and budget in alignment with business priorities and operational capability gaps.
- Lead training-needs analysis with Operations, Service, Sales, Infrastructure, Product, and Human Capital stakeholders; prioritize programmes based on performance, safety, quality, and customer-experience needs.
- Establish role-based competency frameworks, learning paths, and certification standards for mechanics, service teams, frontline staff, supervisors, and operational managers.
- Oversee the development of curricula, training materials, facilitator guides, practical assessments, and on-the-job coaching tools.
- Partner with technical subject-matter experts to ensure training content reflects approved product specifications, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting methods, safety requirements, and operational standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop trainers; establish train-the-trainer programmes and monitor delivery quality across locations.
- Oversee classroom, virtual, workshop, and field-based training, including onboarding, technical upskilling, refresher training, and supervisory development.
- Establish training governance, including assessment criteria, certification records, retraining requirements, content version control, and reporting.
- Evaluate programme effectiveness through competency assessments, manager feedback, and relevant operational indicators, such as repair quality, repeat repairs, productivity, safety, and customer experience.
- Manage external training providers and partnerships; monitor costs, delivery quality, and programme outcomes.
- Present capability gaps, programme results, and improvement recommendations to management; work with operational leaders to embed learning into daily work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in Learning & Development, technical training, service training, or capability development, including at least 2 years leading a training team or function.
- Relevant experience in automotive, motorcycle, EV, dealer, workshop, aftersales, or comparable technical field operations.
- Demonstrated experience building and implementing training programmes across multiple teams or operational locations.
- Strong capability in training-needs analysis, instructional design, adult learning, competency assessment, and programme evaluation.
- Experience managing trainers, subject-matter experts, external providers, training budgets, and competing business priorities.
- Ability to translate technical and operational requirements into practical learning programmes and measurable performance outcomes.
- Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder-management, and project-management skills.
- Familiarity with learning-management systems, training records, and reporting tools.
- Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia, with working English for technical materials and stakeholder communication.
- Willing to travel to workshops and operational locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience establishing a technical-training academy, certification framework, or train-the-trainer programme.
- Exposure to electric motorcycles, battery systems, battery-swapping operations, or automotive aftersales.
- Experience developing mechanics, technicians, service advisors, frontline supervisors, or sales teams.
- Experience introducing digital learning and using training analytics to improve programme effectiveness.
