Training & Development Coordinator

Remember your first day at a new job?

That's where our Training & Development Coordinator comes in.

You'll help turn “I'm new here” into “I think I've got this.”

You'll welcome new employees, facilitate orientation, follow up to see how their training is going, work with leaders to strengthen onboarding, and help employees continue developing throughout their time with us.

And we have a confession:

We think employee training should be worth people's time.

We believe orientation should feel welcoming, training should be useful, and employees should walk away with something they can actually use—not just another handout to add to the pile.

What will you actually do?

You'll be one of the first people our new employees get to know—and your job doesn't end when orientation does.

You'll check back in.

Are they getting the training they need? Do they understand their role? Is something not quite clicking? Is there something we could be doing better?

When the answer is “We could be doing better,” you'll help us do exactly that.

You'll partner with department leaders and Human Resources to identify training needs, improve the employee learning experience and develop practical solutions that help employees succeed.

Some days you might be facilitating orientation. Another day you may be developing a training program, creating a presentation, coordinating a workshop, reviewing new-hire feedback or helping a department strengthen its onboarding process.

And occasionally, you'll face one of training's greatest challenges: convincing a busy team that stepping away from the floor for training will actually be worthwhile. If they leave saying, “Well... at least it wasn't boring,” we'll call that a win.

You'll also get to...

Facilitate workshops and team-building activities, support leadership development, coordinate learning opportunities, help manage required education, and use employee feedback to make our training and onboarding programs better.

You'll also have opportunities to support employee engagement, recognition, mentoring and career development.

In other words, you'll help us find better ways to help our people learn, grow and succeed.

You might be a great fit if you...

• Genuinely enjoy helping people learn and succeed.
• Can effectively facilitate a group and keep people engaged.
• Know how to make training informative, practical and engaging.
• Are creative enough to look at something we've always done and ask, “Could we do this better?”
• Are organized enough to have several things happening at once and still know where you put your notes.
• Build positive working relationships with employees and leaders.
• Listen well and recognize when someone may need additional training or support.
• Can give and receive feedback professionally.
• Are comfortable using technology and willing to learn new systems.
• Understand that sometimes the best employee-development conversation begins with simply asking, “How's it going?”

What about education and experience?

We know great candidates don't always check every box.

An associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Communications, Healthcare Administration or a related field is preferred; however, relevant work experience will also be considered.

We'd like to see approximately two years of experience in training, employee development, onboarding, Human Resources, employee engagement, education or a related field.

Experience facilitating training, orientation, presentations or group learning is a plus. Experience in healthcare, senior living, long-term care or another service-focused environment is also a plus.
