This temporary position is with Department of Health and Human Services-DCFW Executive Administration, located at 1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh NC, Wake County.

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $32.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  
 
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.  

Management Preferences:  

The job responsibilities included:

• Preparation of biennial base budget and change budget requests, budget revision preparation, annual and monthly budget certification activities, year-end closeout activities, grant management and reconciliation, cost allocation activities, monitoring of revenue and receipts and reporting.
• Approving and uploading invoices in NCFS. This Budget officer will work closely with programs in DCFW’s Whole Child Health section.​

Highly Preferred:

Knowledge of state systems (North Carolina Financial Systems)

Minimum Education and Experience

Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, two years of which should be in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
