Job Purpose

The Sr. Market Research Analyst plays a lead support role within the Global Market Research (GMR) organization, partnering closely with Corporate and cross-business unit functions to advance BorgWarner’s strategic and financial objectives. This role takes ownership of tracking and synthesizing market intelligence, industry analysis, and data-driven insights that inform leadership decisions and enable cross-functional execution. The Sr. Analyst will serve as a core subject matter expert for Industrial market analysis (specifically Energy Storage and Power Conversion). The Sr. Analyst will also lead core analytical workstreams and serves as a key contributor to cross-BU M&A diligence initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, Market Research, this position will work closely with various functions and Business Units to support BorgWarner’s growth initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Assists Market Research & BW leadership teams with analysis of global strategic issues, vehicle production trends, data acquisition and presentation to leadership.

• Primary support lead for consolidation and communication of key BorgWarner market dynamics (Total Addressable Market, Outgrowth, Content Opportunity Per Vehicle, etc) at regular intervals, supporting Investor Relations, Finance, and other key corporate groups as needed.

• Primary support lead for M&A data delivery process (market sizing, analysis, estimates, due diligence) for cross-BU M&A projects.

• Manage development of VISTA model to assure its relevancy and accuracy, suggesting and overseeing addition of newly acquired product markets, including share and sourcing intelligence.

• Owns process delivering enterprise-level consolidated views of customers to the GGB and Corporate Strategy. Prepares strategic recommendations on customer focus, growth opportunities, etc…

• Conduct new and adjacent market and competitive analyses needed for select growth and innovation projects (e.g., Industrial analysis for Energy storage and Power Conversion markets).

• Monitor latest industry developments and analyze long-term global propulsion trends. Assists organization with identification of new products and threats to existing business.

• Leads ad hoc market analyses, customer, and competitive assessments, as needed, especially for non-core products and markets.

• Support Market Outlook preparation, quarterly BoD deliverables, GGB data analysis, SIMS (CRM tool) maintenance, and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

 

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years Sales, Strategy, Marketing and / or Engineering experience (automotive preferred).
• Experience in Market Research
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative problem-solver; ability to tell a story with data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot, Word (required)
• Automotive, data center, energy market technical experience

Salary Range:

$80,800 - $111,100
