Sr. Software Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer contributes to the design, development, and ongoing support of custom software systems that power Little Caesars and affiliated companies. This role participates across the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, and production support. The position supports the growth of team capability by providing guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day support to less experienced engineers, and may contribute to initiatives across LCE and other Ilitch organizations.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Delivery & Development  
  Contributes to the delivery of technical projects from design through production support, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and methodologies. Owns the development of large system components and leads the delivery of small projects, while contributing to complex initiatives in collaboration with other team leaders. Produces high‑quality code that is flexible, reusable, and maintainable, and actively participates in build, release, and pipeline automation processes.  

• Software Design & Problem Solving  
  Designs and develop software solutions by breaking down business problems into scalable, interacting components. Effectively navigates and debugs large, complex codebases, identifies appropriate solutions for ambiguous scenarios, and exercises sound judgment in refactoring decisions. Contributes to system architecture and design discussions, leads research and proof‑of‑concept efforts, and evaluates new technologies to inform engineering direction.  

• Quality & Testing  
  Ensures code quality and system reliability through the development and maintenance of unit tests and by supporting integration and automated testing efforts in partnership with QA. Promotes engineering excellence through code reviews and adherence to testing best practices.  

• Agile Practices & Collaboration  
  Actively participates in Agile processes, including sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and demos, and helps drive the creation of clear, actionable technical user stories. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, align on delivery, and ensure successful project outcomes.  

• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing  
  Serves as a senior technical resource by mentoring junior engineers, providing hands‑on guidance through pairing and coaching, and supporting onboarding efforts. Acts as a subject matter expert in key technical areas, promotes best practices, and contributes to knowledge sharing across the team, including supporting intern development.  

• Support & Continuous Improvement  
  Provides ongoing support for production systems, including participation in an on‑call rotation, and leads root cause analysis and resolution of system issues. Proactively identifies opportunities for system, process, and tooling improvements, maintains support documentation, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team effectiveness and system performance.  

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a formal education.  
• Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting software solutions in a professional environment, using one or more of the following technologies:  
• Application development across web, mobile, or service-based architectures (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, .NET, Java, Python)  
• API driven and distributed systems, including RESTful services and microservices  
• Data storage technologies, such as relational, NoSQL, or unstructured data stores  
• Cloud platforms or hosting environments, such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent  
• Platform specific or systems development, such as mobile or embedded environments  

Working Conditions:

This position may include on-call responsibilities and occasional work during nights, weekends, or holidays. Work is typically performed in a standard office or remote environment, with some travel to restaurant locations or industry events as needed, in accordance with company travel policies.
