About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Electrician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, working with sophisticated industrial equipment, and solving challenging electrical problems? We are seeking skilled Electricians to join our team supporting essential mining equipment and industrial infrastructure. About the Role
As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment throughout the operation. You'll work with both underground and surface electrical systems and play an important role in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
This position is ideal for someone who is technically strong, enjoys troubleshooting, can work independently, and is comfortable working in a challenging industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and systems
- Maintain and repair power and lighting systems, including motors, generators, transformers, controls, switches, timing devices, cables, and conduit
- Work with 480 VAC, three-phase motor control systems
- Test motor-controlled devices, switchgear/panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical components
- Diagnose electrical system malfunctions, identify root causes, isolate problems, and implement effective repairs
- Dismantle and reassemble electrical equipment as required
- Perform corrective maintenance and troubleshoot electrical failures to minimize downtime
- Use electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications
- Complete required paperwork, maintenance records, and shift reporting accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Monitor the work environment for hazards and changing conditions and follow all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Immediately communicate safety concerns and issues that may affect employees, production, or product quality to management
- Cross train and support other functions as required
- Perform other duties and incidental tasks necessary to complete assigned work
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 4+ years of industrial electrical experience
- Journeyman Electrical Certification, Journeyman card, or equivalent electrical certification
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical systems and industrial equipment
- 4+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical drawings, layouts, and specifications
- Experience working with equipment such as: electrical switchgear, motor starters, transformers, generators, relay logic, Variable Frequency Drives
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of lifting devices, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English
Preferred:
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Experience working in mining, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similarly demanding environments
- Experience working with both underground and surface electrical systems
