- Take ownership of complex problems from investigation through to resolution, identifying practical options and escalating appropriately when needed.
- Contribute to development standards, documentation, peer review, knowledge sharing and mentoring across the BI team

Desired behavioral skills:
The Senior BI Developer should demonstrate the following behavioural skills:
- Ownership and accountability: Takes responsibility for work from initial investigation through to delivery and handover, without requiring repeated follow-up.
- Clear and early communication: Provides progress updates and raises risks, blockers and potential delays before delivery is affected.
- Proactive problem-solving: Investigates issues independently and identifies possible solutions rather than only reporting problems.
- Appropriate escalation: Recognises when further investigation is unlikely to be productive and seeks support at the right time.
- Curiosity and analytical thinking: Independently seeks to understand the underlying data, business process and existing logic.
- Reliability and responsiveness: Will take ownership of agreed priorities, attend scheduled discussions and proactively arrange discussions where required.
- Collaboration: Works positively with colleagues, participates in team discussions and contributes to shared objectives.
- Knowledge sharing: Documents findings, explains technical decisions and avoids creating processes that only one person understands.
- Quality and attention to detail: Tests and validates work thoroughly, performance, usability and maintainability. Understands issues should be addressed before code review, allowing the review process to focus on assurance and improvement.
- Stakeholder focus: Understands the business outcome behind a request and constructively clarifies or challenges unclear requirements.
- Adaptability and resilience: Remains constructive when requirements change or unexpected data issues arise.
- Continual improvement mindset: Acknowledges gaps in knowledge, responds positively to feedback and demonstrates a willingness to learn.
