JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Production Designer at LIVE·TEAM, you'll play an important role in bringing creative ideas to life by transforming approved designs into accurate, production-ready artwork for large-format print applications. Our work includes event signage, wayfinding systems, environmental graphics, large-scale branding, and other custom print solutions that vary widely in scale, materials, fabrication methods, and production complexity. Every project presents unique technical challenges, giving you the opportunity to solve production problems, collaborate across multiple teams, and help deliver exceptional client experiences from concept through installation.
You'll spend most of your time reviewing, preparing, preflighting, and releasing artwork supplied by clients or our internal creative team, ensuring every file is production-ready, accurately reflects the approved design, and meets the technical requirements for fabrication and print production. You'll create production proofs, prepare supporting documentation, and work closely with Project Managers, designers, production leadership, print operators, and installation teams to help projects move smoothly from concept to finished installation.
We're looking for someone who enjoys the technical side of design, has a sharp eye for detail, and takes pride in getting the details right. If you enjoy solving production challenges, working on a wide variety of projects, collaborating with experienced teammates, and continuously expanding your knowledge of large-format production, fabrication, and print technologies, you'll have the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact at LIVE·TEAM.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prepare, preflight, and release accurate, print-ready files for large-format event signage, wayfinding systems, environmental graphics, branding elements, and occasional dimensional applications.
- Review and preflight artwork supplied by clients, vendors, and internal teams, identifying and resolving issues related to resolution, scale, color profiles, fonts, linked assets, bleeds, dielines, file setup, and other production requirements.
- Adapt, resize, revise, and version artwork across a variety of formats and dimensions while maintaining consistency with approved creative, client brand standards, and production specifications.
- Create clear production proofs that communicate dimensions, materials, finishing requirements, panel breaks, installation details, and other relevant production specifications.
- Develop supporting production documentation, including installation maps, diagrams, finishing callouts, file inventories, organized release packages, and other project deliverables as needed.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, designers, production leadership, print operators, fabrication teams, and installation crews to resolve technical questions, account for production constraints, and keep projects moving on schedule.
- Review production proofs, color samples, material samples, and finished output to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality throughout the production process.
- Maintain organized project files, consistent naming conventions, version control, and complete production packages across multiple simultaneous projects and fast-paced production schedules.
- Apply advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, along with a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, to execute daily production design responsibilities.
- When needed, translate established creative direction into production-ready layouts by making thoughtful decisions about available assets, layout adaptations, and production feasibility.
- Balance multiple projects at different stages of production while proactively communicating questions, risks, changing priorities, and potential schedule impacts.
- Take ownership of assigned work, consistently delivering accurate, high-quality production files while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to continuously expanding your knowledge of prepress, color management, fabrication methods, finishing techniques, materials, and large-format production best practices.
- Look for opportunities to improve production workflows, file organization, documentation, and overall team efficiency.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- 2+ years of experience in production design, prepress, or a related print production role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
- Working knowledge of large-format print production, including scale, resolution, color management, color profiles, bleeds, dielines, linked assets, and print output requirements.
- Experience reviewing, preparing, and preflighting client-supplied or internally developed artwork for print production.
- Experience producing large-format graphics, event signage, wayfinding systems, environmental graphics, branded environments, experiential marketing, exhibits, or similar print applications.
- Familiarity with color management workflows, print production best practices, and a variety of large-format materials and fabrication methods.
- Experience preparing files for digital cutting, CNC routing, vinyl production, or other specialty finishing processes is a plus.
- Ability to identify potential production issues early, communicate them clearly, and recommend practical solutions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain clean, well-structured files throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities and production schedules.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside Project Managers, designers, production leadership, print operators, fabrication teams, and installation crews.
- Comfortable using a variety of creative, production, and productivity software to support project deliverables.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuously improving production processes, documentation, workflow efficiency, and technical knowledge.
