Job Summary
The Regional Product Manager – Operating Room & Peri-Operative Solutions is responsible for driving the regional product management agenda and leading the strategic management of a portfolio of products and solutions supporting the Operating Room (OR) and peri-operative care environment across Southeast Asia.The role focuses on identifying market opportunities, generating actionable insights, and translating them into effective portfolio and go-to-market strategies that enhance customer value and support sustainable business growth. The incumbent will develop a deep understanding of surgical workflows, patient pathways, customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes to ensure the portfolio remains relevant and differentiated across diverse healthcare systems.
Acting as a critical link between Global Product Divisions, regional teams, distributors, and in-market stakeholders, the incumbent will drive product readiness, launch excellence, portfolio optimisation, and commercial execution across Southeast Asia.
Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, stakeholder influence, and the ability to operate effectively in a matrix organisation. The individual will build strong partnerships across functions and markets, support capability development within the commercial organisation, and contribute to Medline’s long-term growth strategy within the Operating Room & Peri-Operative Solutions portfolio.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Identify and develop new products and manage each stage of the process through take to market.
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans and promotional programs for existing products to include product strategy development, pricing strategy, collateral creation and brand management.
Review monthly financial performance and determine contributing factors. Offer solutions for detrimental sales or cost trends. Prepare product forecasts to include revenue and expense expectations. Analyze sales trends over time and impact of competitive strategies. Support forecasts and budgets with appropriately detailed marketing plans.
Work with Manufacturing, Purchasing and Engineering to reduce Cost of Goods by assessing packaging, alternate materials, new sources of material, stocking, make to order, direct to customer shipments, etc. Manage inventory by focusing on eliminating surplus and optimizing SKU count. May negotiate pricing with vendors for raw materials and finished goods. Visit vendors to develop products and train personnel all aspects of each product and usages. Coordinate materials with vendors and develop finished custom items.
Analyze and bid on GPO and/or Integrated Delivery Network contracts for assigned product categories.
Develop and deliver training materials for internal stakeholders, sales forces and customers. Create sales tools.
Conduct market research and translate that research into new products, product improvements, or line extensions by providing leadership to a multi-functional team.
Travel with sales force to support efforts to convert customers to purchase Medline products. Provide timely follow up to sales forces by answering product questions via e-mail and phone.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field, with advanced degrees being advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, marketing, or commercial roles within the healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industry.
- Experience supporting products used within the Operating Room and peri-operative care environment, with a strong understanding of surgical workflows, clinical practices, customer needs, and healthcare purchasing dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic thinking, business analysis, and translating insights into actionable growth plans.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Experience working with distributors and managing indirect markets within Southeast Asia is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills to engage both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of managing responsibilities independently with a strong sense of ownership.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and other business intelligence platforms.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across Southeast Asia as required.
- Proficiency in additional regional languages such as Mandarin, Bahasa or Thai is considered a strong advantage to communicate with in country distributors.
