Technician / Test Engineer – Reliability & Lifetime Testing (6–12 Years Experience)
Experience: 6–12 years
Education: Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related fields
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Technician / Test Engineer to support reliability, lifetime ageing, corrosion, mechanical, and environmental testing of electromechanical and mechanical components. This role involves executing long-duration tests, handling instrumentation such as strain gauges and sensors, supporting failure analysis, and ensuring lab discipline and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, own, execute and report on environmental, corrosion, fatigue, vibration, and long-duration reliability tests.
- Apply and calibrate strain gauges, thermocouples and integrated sensors (load cells, LVDTs) to obtain the most relevant data for the product under test.
- Operate test equipment including environmental chambers, power supplies, oscilloscopes, DAQ systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical/electromechanical issues and support failure analysis.
- Prepare clear test documentation, logs, and technical reports.Oversee maintenance and calibration of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliabilityand follow safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 6–12 years of hands-on experience in mechanical/electromechanical test environments.
- Strong instrumentation experience including strain gauges and sensor integration.
- Proven ability to independently run long-duration tests and maintain data quality.
- Proficiency with DAQ tools and basic data analysis.
Familiarity with industry standards (ASTM, SAE, ISO, IEC, UL etc.), testing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional/global coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to accelerated life testing, corrosion chambers, fatigue rigs.
- Understanding of failure analysis techniques.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
- Basic scripting (Python/LabVIEW/MATLAB) is a plus.
