Business Analyst I

Description

The Business Operations Analyst partners with the Comparion Exclusive Agency Partnerships (EAP) leadership team and the EAP Director of Operations to improve how work gets done across the channel. This role supports Territory Managers and Agents with recurring tasks and projects, identifies gaps in existing processes to improve the agent experience, and works with stakeholders across Comparion and ADS to implement new solutions.

 

The analyst uses existing reports to uncover gaps, opportunities, and trends, and recommends solutions that improve new business production and retention with current carriers. The role interfaces with carriers and partners as needed, and seeks guidance from the Director of Operations and more experienced team members to support continued professional growth.

Job Responsibilities

The analyst spends at least 75% of their time on a combination of the following:

• Partner with the EAP leadership team to optimize existing processes with partners and carriers.
• Support current Territory Managers and Agents with recurring tasks and projects, serving as a responsive point of contact for operational needs.
• Identify gaps in existing processes and recommend improvements that enhance the agent experience.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Comparion and ADS to identify, implement, and evaluate new solutions.
• Analyze agency and carrier data to identify opportunities to improve new business production and retention.
• Use existing reports to identify gaps, trends, and insights, and offer practical solutions; prepare and distribute standard and ad hoc reports, and share findings and recommendations.
• Support the EAP Director of Operations with day-to-day tasks that improve channel efficiency.
• Interface with carriers and partners as needed to resolve issues, gather information, and carry out process changes.

The analyst also performs other channel administrative duties, including:

• Distributing reports to agents
• Monitoring and distributing policy documents to agents
• Ensuring customer requests are routed to the proper Territory Manager or Agent

Qualifications

• Demonstrated research, problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and relationship management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Business operations knowledge, including an understanding of Comparion’s value chain and awareness of market conditions; knowledge of the EAP distribution model is a plus
• Solid Excel skills and developing knowledge of available data sources, including their strengths and limitations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and recurring tasks while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledge of database software preferred.
• Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in addition to 6-9 months of relevant experience.
