Senior Management Accountant

A large international FMCG manufacturer based in Umhlanga is seeking a CA to join their Finance team as a Senior Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and analytical finance professional with strong management accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost management, supporting business performance and strategic decision-making

What you will be expected to do:

• Prepare monthly financial reports, sales packs and management packs
• Conduct monthly and year-to-date variance and margin analysis against budgets and prior year
• Ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenue across departments and cost centres
• Review General Ledger accounts and assist with balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, sales budgets, Opex budgets and forecasts
• Coordinate and assist with annual external audits and audit requirements
• Assist with CAPEX justifications and fixed asset verifications
• Monitor and verify banking payments and related reconciliations
• Calculate machine and labour rates in conjunction with the Financial Manager
• Manage month-end reporting processes, including provisions, rebates, reconciliations and departmental variance analysis
• Maintain financial and ERP systems and generate monthly sales reports
• Assist with year-end stock counts and ad hoc finance projects
• Mentor and support other management accounting staff

What skills you will need in this position:

• BCom Degree or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• CIMA qualification or progress towards CIMA would be advantageous
• 3–5 years' management accounting and financial analysis experience within a manufacturing environment
• Advanced Excel skills and an understanding of database structures
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central and IDU would be advantageous
• SQL scripting experience would be an advantage
