Job Description
Leland Saylor Associates is seeking a Civil Engineer to provide pre- and post-contract support for civil structures and transit infrastructure projects, working in collaboration with our San Francisco Bay Area–based team. Our work supports primarily U.S.-based clients, and this role applies established U.S. estimating and cost-management practices across the full project lifecycle. This position is based at our Walnut Creek, CA office.
Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
Daily Duties
- Prepare construction cost estimates for civil structures and transit infrastructure projects.
- Prepare cost estimates organized in accordance with CSI MasterFormat.
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications to define project scope and support the development of cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and document review using On-Screen Takeoff (OST), AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
Pre-Contract Duties
- Provide pre-contract support for civil structures and transit infrastructure projects.
- Review geotechnical reports and topographic and geologic data to identify conditions that affect design, construction, and cost.
- Evaluate site conditions to inform project scope and construction cost estimates.
Post-Contract Duties
- Provide post-contract support for civil structures and transit infrastructure projects.
- Perform construction monitoring and inspection.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States required.

Salary: The salary range for this full-time role is $116K–$120K per year.
