An opportunity has arisen within the Financial Services Ireland (FSI) Group, the Ibec trade association representing the cross-sectoral financial services sector, comprising 160 members in domestic and international banking, (re)insurance, funds and asset management, FinTech, payments, and the Aircraft Leasing Ireland (ALI) trade association.
The Deputy Director leads the FSI strategy development and implementation and has line management responsibility for the core FSI/ALI teams. S/he is responsible for drafting/overseeing industry positions on key regulatory and policy issues.
The Deputy Director has key account management and commercial responsibility for the association.
The Deputy Director works closely with the Director of the FSI Group to enhance the external profile of the Sector and further strengthen strategic external stakeholder management, nationally and internationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE
FSI Strategy delivery
- Management of the delivery of the strategic pillars for the Financial Services Ireland core group, supporting the Chair and Board champions where identified.
- Implement the annual work programme devised with the Board, working under the guidance and with strategic level support from the Director of the Group.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation on initiatives and projects as appropriate
- Be the line manager for the core FSI and ALI team, supporting their performance and development
- Leading a team of executives to deliver identified policy, activity and financial targets
- Manage team performance and provide coaching and support as necessary
- Act as an effective role model to team members
- Support individual and team development
- Actively engage as a member of the Ibec Senior Manager team to deliver on Ibec objectives.
- Representing the industry to key stakeholders
- Analysing, driving and responding to policy developments in designated areas for the sector such as fiscal, legislative, regulatory
Member relations; communications and committee work
- Key Account Manager of all members of the FSI Group, maintaining strong relationships with members and ensuring engagement with all Ibec services
- Ensure the priorities of the financial services industry are communicated and reflected at Ibec level
- Work closely with the Director of the Group supporting the board and committees of FSI in delivering agreed work programmes;
- Deliver member services including events and networking as defined by the membership.
- Take on the role of spokesperson and media commentator where agreed and deputise on any other items where appropriate for the Director.
- Supporting the FSI board in the development of sector strategy and objectives;
- Ensure compliance with the Ibec Trade Association Handbook.
- Driving various initiatives as and when required as agreed with the FSI board.
- Oversee the successful operation of the ALI trade association.
- Support the Director in maintaining strategic oversight across the group commercial targets.
- Manage membership subscriptions, and generate new membership opportunities
- Meet budget and commercial targets
ABOUT YOU
- Hold a primary degree in a relevant discipline, additional relevant postgraduate/professional qualifications would be an advantage
- Be capable of analysing complex policy proposals and determining their impact on the financial services industry
- Be capable of translating this to cogent policy positions and communicating them effectively through various media
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of the Financial Services Sector
- Possess a clear understanding of the forces that influence the competitiveness of the financial services industry
- Commercial Acumen
- Have relevant experience of working in a representational environment at a senior level and have excellent lobbying and networking skills
- Possess strong leadership capability with a clear vision for the future of Ireland’s Financial Services Sector
- Team player - capable results orientated, collaborator at all levels
- Articulate, confident, and highly professional
- Be committed to developing innovative models for engagement with members and to the development of new member services
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and motivate a small professional team and themselves
