Description
The Recreation Coordinator reports to the Recreation Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Oversee the implementation and execution of planned recreation programs and activities; work with partner organizations to ensure continuity of operations; ensure adherence to operational and safety policies and procedures; evaluate programs and assess effectiveness, and recommend and/or implement changes to improve and optimize programs; respond to and resolve complaints.
- Market and promote programs/events/facilities; prepare and oversee the development of brochures, flyers, invitations, and other communications and marketing materials; maintain internal center and program-related web pages; develop, publish, and market department Recreation Guide; provide program information to external websites, media venues, and community groups.
- Perform program administration; oversees registration and the collection of fees; monitor allocated program budgets and expenditures; make staffing, activity, and schedule adjustments to meet budget constraints; receive, review and record invoices from vendors and service providers; purchase equipment, materials, and supplies; and record and deposit revenues.
- Establish and maintain program and/or facility operations databases, file and record; prepare financial, statistical, and operational records and reports; prepare and/or review incident and injury reports and keeps supervisor advised of program and operational issues; prepare letters; correspondence and other documents; review and provide video footage and related documentation to public safety personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Tourism, Business Management or related course work.
- Two years of recreation programming, special event planning, or related experience.
- Specialization in an event or festival management preferred (Special Event assignment only).
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
- CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
- Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred.

Based on qualifications, this position can be hired as a Recreation Coordinator I ($63,961.00 - $95,942.00) or as a Recreation Coordinator II ($70,357.00 - $105,536.00)
