We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team and contribute to the well-being and communication development of the students we serve.
Position Overview:
As an Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Under the guidance and supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, your work will directly contribute to the success and well-being of students in the school environment.
Requirements:
Texas State SLPA licensure
Recent Texas public school experience as an SLPA for over 6 months
Additional Details:
Katy ISD is looking to support 3 elementary schools. This district maintains a manageable caseload by trying to keep all SLPAs at no more than 50 students per caseload.

Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program or related field.
- TX State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLPA.
- Willing to provide supervision hours for licensing if needed
- Previous experience as an SLPA in private practice or a pediatric setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to assist in managing caseload and documentation.
- Dedication to providing culturally competent and student-centered care.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a Licensed SLP and SLPA will:
- Provide speech and language therapy interventions, exercises, and activities to support the client's communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
- Support the implementation of treatment plans and carryover of therapy goals
- Assist in monitoring and documenting the client's progress, communicating findings to the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Work with individual students to reinforce therapy techniques and activities.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and distric regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology assistant services within the school setting
