About Zūm:
This role requires to be in-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. We will only consider candidates currently living and within a reasonable commuting distance to our Bay Area HQ.
Who You Are:
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Director of Treasury to lead the execution of financing and debt-management activities while maintaining strong controls and compliance across cash forecasting and treasury operations. Reporting to the VP Treasurer, this role will strengthen cash forecasting, optimize working capital and capital deployment, and maintain strong controls, compliance, and risk governance. The Director will partner with senior leadership and external financial partners to support financial resilience and long-term growth.
The Director partners closely with the executive leadership, operations, commercial, supply chain, and external financial partners to drive cash flow predictability, optimize capital deployment, strengthen balance sheet performance, and ensure disciplined governance across all cash-related activities. The role serves as a key advisor on capital planning, debt management, and financial risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
Cashflow Forecast and Liquidity Management
- Manage cash forecasting, other interest/income and expense forecast, and debt management; partner with FP&A and Accounting to improve accuracy, analyze variances, and deliver insights to senior leadership
- Manage cash liquidity forecast, debt operations, and banking relationship management
- Support banking relationship, including coordination of banking terms, covenants, credit lines, and fees to optimize cost savings and improve service delivery
- Own treasury-related month/quarter-end close activities and partner closely with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely close
- Manage the debt-equity portfolio in compliance with Zum’s financing strategy and policy; optimize yield, capital needs and bank fees to improve overall treasury efficiency
- Develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate capital allocation strategies, including share buybacks, debt repayment, M&A funding, repatriation, and internal R&D investment.
- Manage treasury strategic reporting including market trends and peer benchmarks to advise senior management on capital structure and return-of-capital frameworks.
- Support compliance with all debt covenants and reporting requirements outlined in loan agreements and credit facilities. Monitor for potential covenant breaches, working closely with internal stakeholders
- Support the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for treasury operations to ensure adherence to best practices and governance standards
- Support public company readiness by strengthening treasury governance, controls, documentation, and reporting processes to meet SOX, audit, SEC, and broader public company requirements. Drive process improvements across treasury workflows leveraging AI, automation, and next-generation treasury management systems to reduce manual intervention and enable real-time operations
- Support the corporate insurance program, including renewals, coverage assessments, and broker relationships
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into cash positions, liquidity, and treasury metrics
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including accounting, FP&A, Legal, Operations, Accounting, to align treasury activities with broader financial objectives
- Backup to the issuance, renewal, letter of credit, and bank guarantees and bid/bond surety program
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; CTP or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in treasury operations, cash management, or corporate finance
- Strong knowledge of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and treasury systems
- Experience Treasury Management Systems (TMS), NetSuite and Zip platforms
- Demonstrated ability to support banking relationships and coordinate agreements
- Understanding of financial risk management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
