Associate Dean and Associate Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards

Job Description:

The Associate Dean and Associate Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards serves as an integral member of the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards, supporting the Senior Associate Dean and Director and contributing to the overall direction and priorities of the office. The Associate Dean is responsible for: the assignment, management, supervision, and approval of all investigations and case administration through the student conduct system; and the management and supervision of all alternative processes of resolution or adjudication through the office, such as the advancement of Restorative Justice into the office’s practices. The Associate Dean will also work on other initiatives as directed by the Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards.

 Job Qualifications 

• Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Education, Social Work, or other discipline related to higher education required.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership at an educational institution required, residential college or university preferred.

• At least 4 years of experience in Student Conduct, with experience in alternative resolution processes preferred.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and families and to provide advice and support undergraduate, graduate, and medical students through student conduct procedures.

• Experience in managing crises effectively and collaboratively.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight timelines within a task-based and project management framework. 

• Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.

• Ability to negotiate with peers and superiors to ensure work is completed.

• Organized and capable of tracking, managing, and resolving issues on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Self-motivating, professional, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity in a diverse organizational environment.

• Sound judgment and the ability to make difficult and timely decisions with integrity.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to utilize technology and institutional databases in the documentation of records and support of students. 

• Flexibility to evolve with a dynamic student affairs environment.
