Job Summary:
The Senior Client Data Strategist is responsible for owning audience strategy, data application, and performance insights across assigned client engagements. This role sits at the intersection of Client Services, Product, and Data, translating complex data assets and campaign performance into clear, actionable strategies that drive client outcomes.
A strategic and client-facing leader, this individual partners closely with account teams and clients to design effective targeting approaches, analyze performance, and continuously optimize engagement strategies. They are equally comfortable diving into data, shaping narratives, and influencing both internal stakeholders and clients through insight-driven recommendations.
This role requires a strong balance of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and communication—ensuring clients understand not just what is being done, but why it works and how it drives value.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Audience Strategy & Data Application:
- Own the development of audience targeting strategies across assigned client accounts, aligning data usage with client business goals, campaign objectives, and scale requirements.
- Leverage a deep understanding of available data assets (first-party, third-party, modeled audiences) to design effective, scalable targeting approaches.
- Identify opportunities to layer, segment, and sequence data to improve campaign precision and performance.
- Performance Analysis & Optimization:
- Analyze campaign and audience-level performance data to identify trends in engagement, quality, and effectiveness.
- Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations that improve ongoing and future targeting strategies.
- Continuously refine audience approaches based on performance insights, testing, and iteration.
- Client-Facing Strategy & Storytelling:
- Develop and deliver compelling, data-driven narratives that clearly communicate targeting strategies, performance insights, and optimization recommendations.
- Present findings and recommendations in client-facing formats (QBRs, strategy decks, written summaries) that demonstrate value and build client confidence.
- Act as a subject matter expert in client conversations, helping clients understand the “why” behind strategy and results.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence:
- Partner with Client Services, Sales, Product, and Data teams to align on strategy, execution, and performance.
- Provide strategic input during pre-sales or expansion opportunities, ensuring proposed approaches are both effective and feasible.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of audience targeting, segmentation, and data application across digital marketing channels.
- Experience analyzing campaign performance data and translating insights into actionable strategy.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in client-facing roles and presenting strategic recommendations.
- Experience querying and analyzing data using SQL, Python or similar tools.
- Experience working with marketing data platforms, CDPs, or audience/data providers.
- Experience and working knowledge of AI-based development and productivity tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
- Comfort working with dashboards and collaborating with data/product teams to define data needs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline, marketing, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in data-driven marketing, audience strategy, marketing analytics, or related fields.
