Job Description

As a Security Officer Screening Compliance in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Screener at a financial institution, you will help maintain a secure environment by operating screening equipment, monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and responding to security-related concerns. Your visible presence, professionalism, and customer service will help deter incidents while supporting employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and customers at a financial institution by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and belongings entering designated areas using approved screening equipment and procedures, following established access-control requirements.
• Verify identification, visitor authorization, and permitted items before allowing entry to restricted areas; report discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, lobby areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
