We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated VP of Corporate Security to join our growing team. The Vice President of Corporate Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's comprehensive security strategy to protect employees, residents, tenants, visitors, facilities, assets, information, and reputation. This executive leader directs physical security, investigations, emergency management, business continuity planning, threat assessment, executive protection, access control systems, and security technology across all corporate, construction, and property management operations.
The candidate chosen for this position will be based out of our corporate office in Carlstadt, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the organization’s enterprise security strategy.
- Assess current vendors policies and procedures.
- Develop relationships with municipalities, police, fire departments in the towns in which we have current and future projects.
- Establish security policies, standards, and operating procedures.
- Identify and assess security risks affecting personnel, property, operations, and reputation.
- Provide regular security assessments and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Lead and mentor security personnel, contractors, and third-party security providers.
- Conduct site vulnerability assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee security programs for corporate offices, residential communities, mixed-use developments, construction sites, and other company-owned assets.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, crisis management protocols, and business continuity strategies.
- Develop executive protection programs when appropriate.
- Coordinate security measures for executive travel, special events, and high-profile meetings.
- Develop security standards for construction sites and development projects.
- Coordinate security measures for vacant properties, active job sites, and critical infrastructure.
- Work alongside the Design and Management team when planning security installations and space/site layouts for new projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible security leadership experience.
- 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing multi-site security operations.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP)/ Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred.
- Experience with commercial real estate, residential property management, construction, corporate security, or a related industry preferred.
- Expertise in physical security systems and operations.
- Must exhibit strong technical, verbal, written skills.
- Must be organized and work well in a collaborative environment.
