Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resource Assistant to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department and assisting with various HR functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, including posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks
• Maintain employee records and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date
• Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollment and changes
• Coordinate training and development programs for employees
• Assist with performance management processes
• Prepare and distribute HR-related documents, such as offer letters, contracts, and policies
• Respond to employee inquiries and escalate issues to the appropriate HR team member
• Assist with maintaining compliance with labor laws and regulations
• Conduct research on HR best practices and make recommendations for improvement
• Assist with organizing company events and employee engagement initiatives
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of HR practices and procedures
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
