Description
About ACB & This Opportunity
Advertising Checking Bureau (ACB) has partnered with automotive OEMs and their dealer networks for more than a century, helping brands verify, audit, and optimize co-op advertising and marketing compliance programs. ACB's Automotive Division works directly with OEM brands to keep dealer marketing investment compliant, efficient, and aligned with brand standards.
This is an opportunity to own a portfolio of established, high-visibility OEM programs from day one, with direct exposure to senior client stakeholders and a clear path to grow within a division that is actively expanding.
Position Summary
The Automotive Account Manager is a client-facing leader responsible for the smooth execution of high-visibility marketing compliance and co-op programs. Working closely with automotive clients and internal operations teams, this role combines strategic program management, business insight, and client relationship building. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-savvy, and confident communicating directly with senior stakeholders.
This role requires strong account management skills, the ability to balance client expectations against ACB's level of effort and financial impact, and a keen understanding of automotive channel marketing with an eye toward emerging trends and new business opportunities.
The Automotive Account Manager owns their assigned programs end-to-end, including their health and success, rather than simply routing client requests to Operations for execution.
This role reports to the Head of Automotive Services. Annual KPIs are mutually agreed upon and clearly communicated at the outset, and KPI achievement factors into the annual review and compensation structure.
Essential Responsibilities
Client Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison for assigned automotive accounts, ensuring clear communication, prompt issue resolution, and smooth program execution.
- Represent ACB in recurring (e.g., monthly or biweekly) client status calls; document and distribute meeting notes.
- Participate in semiannual or annual business reviews (remote or onsite, as needed), presenting a "look-back" on program data - spend, compliance, and other key metric trends - alongside major initiatives completed and in progress; summarize key decisions and distribute notes.
- Communicate ACB's innovation roadmap, helping clients understand how emerging technology will drive continuous improvement in their programs.
- Develop and execute an annual dealer and field program refresh; conduct ad hoc trainings as needed (e.g., material program changes).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, including internal business owners, agency partners, and field teams.
- Maintain an ongoing pulse on the automotive industry and channel marketing to provide forward-looking recommendations, trends, and benchmarks to clients.
- Prepare and present annual co-op and compliance industry benchmarks.
- Author and maintain all contractual and financial responsibilities, including Service Orders, Revisions, client PO requests, and Change Orders for material scope changes.
- Once foundational program knowledge is established (typically within 12–18 months), identify and propose upsell opportunities - expanding current scope or introducing new services that generate incremental revenue for ACB.
- Gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of ACB's systems, processes, and product roadmap, and communicate these insights effectively to clients.
- Engage in strategic discussions with clients, providing insight and recommendations on the feasibility and implementation of their requests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with client objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making data-driven recommendations for optimization.
- Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail.
