Job Purpose:

The HSE Senior specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, Safety, and programs across the Cairo Site. The role ensures compliance with local regulations, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, Sanofi corporate requirements, and applicable process safety standards while promoting a strong safety culture, environmental sustainability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The HSE Specialist partners with operations, maintenance, quality, and contractors to identify hazards, assess and reduce operational and process safety risks, support Process Hazard identification and change Management activities, improve environmental performance, and maintain a safe, compliant, and reliable workplace.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure the site’s activities compliance to all relevant Environment & Sustainability regulations and standards (local and company). 

• Support the HSE Head to maintain the Legal requirements and related documents.

• Support the implantation and response to regulatory and other requirement compliance activities,  including Sanofi HSE STDs, ISO 45001 & 14001STDs, Egyptian Laws, on-site inspections, written complaints, notices of violation, etc.

• Support site-wide system to identify and evaluate hazards (risks), and implement effective controls  (corrective solutions) consistent with Company risk management process.

• Facilitate the development and implementation of HSE programs including clarifying the roles of others who will assist with (or lead) each program; assuring the development of prioritized action plans with timetables for execution; and participating in the development of plant-specific procedures and methods.

• Review and plan and ensure delivery of annual HSE training program to meet site business needs

• Support the development and maintenance of accurate, up-to-date, and complete records for HSE- related activities.

• Identify, investigate and report root causes for incidents / accidents and HSE compliance deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions for future improvements.

• Represent HSE in new projects and upgrades in Cairo site, ensure the provision of HSE advice to project team, dealing with outside contractors, taking account of statutory and corporate requirements and site bossiness objectives.

• Support permit-to-work and contractor control processes.

• Design, implement, facilitate culture programs at Cairo site, report to HSE head any identified gaps and areas of improvement.

• Responsible to conduct site wide assessments and assess site changes that impact HSE.

• Coordinate emergency drills and support Emergency Response Team activities.

• Conduct inspections of fire protection and emergency equipment.

• Ensure emergency preparedness compliance and readiness.

About you

Education: Bachelor degree of Engineering/Pharmacy/Science or a related field.

Experience:   3-5 years of HSE industrial experience.
