Job Description

The General Ledger Accountant – North Macedonia market is responsible for accurate day-to-day General Ledger postings, accounting controls, monthly reporting, statutory accounting support, tax compliance activities and cooperation with AP, AR, local Finance and Group Finance teams. The position is based in Belgrade, Serbia, while supporting the North Macedonia market remotely.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate day-to-day General Ledger postings and ensure timely completion of relevant accounting controls.
• Support monthly closing and reporting activities in line with Publicis Groupe requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare accruals, calculations, exchange rate adjustments, P&L and Balance Sheet related postings.
• Prepare the monthly reporting package for Group reporting purposes.
• Review trial balances and accounting records, identify irregularities and support timely corrections.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation calculations.
• Support intercompany reconciliation between related legal entities on a monthly basis.
• Cooperate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, local Finance and Group Finance teams.
• Monitor North Macedonian accounting, statutory and tax regulations and support implementation of required changes in accounting records and systems.
• Communicate with tax authorities when needed and support internal and external audits.
• Work with relevant government accounting applications, including E-taxes, MPIN and EPDD.
• Support Financial Monitoring Control, Internal Audit and other ad hoc Group Finance requests.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
• Strong knowledge of North Macedonian accounting regulations, tax practices and statutory accounting requirements.
• Practical experience in General Ledger accounting, monthly closing and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of IFRS and IAS.
• Experience with AB Soft accounting software is required.
• Experience with Oracle Hyperion or similar reporting tools will be considered an advantage.
• Experience with local government accounting/tax applications in North Macedonia will be considered an advantage.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Good command of English.
• Knowledge of Macedonian language will be considered an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
