The Accountant for General Ledger/Closing/Reporting ensures timely, accurate and compliant service delivery for all General Ledger/Closing/Reporting transactions in accordance with performance and quality standards defined in relevant service level agreements.

The Accountant reports to the respective Team Lead General Ledger/Closing/Reporting.

What We Offer

• Support the day to day General Ledger/Closing/Reporting operations for the following process areas:

  • Initiate/approve requests for new / changes of GL accounts or other GL master data according to defined work procedures

  • Perform manual General Ledger postings as defined within the activity split.

  • Perform monitoring and clearing of accounts according to defined work procedures 

  • Review the closing results and follow up with business

  • Perform closing activities

  • Execute reporting activities

  • Support Audit and Control

• Ensure the understanding and compliant service delivery across Covestro of agreed policies and procedures.

• Understand service level agreements and key performance indicators for General Ledger/Closing/Reporting related processes.

• Contribute to the continuous maintenance and the update of General Ledger/Closing/Reporting process activities and procedures.

• Support team members to achieve performance and quality standards as defined in relevant service level agreements.

• Assist the implementation of initiatives for improving the efficiency and/or effectiveness of the General Ledger/Closing/Reporting transaction processing.

The minimum salary on this position is 1650 EUR. The salary can be higher depending on the skills and experience of the candidate.

What You Offer

• Degree in Economics or Business Administration preferably major in accounting.

• Approximately 2-3 years of experience in the area of Accounting.

• Some experience in General Ledger/Closing/Reporting processes in a complex and international business environment of advantage.

• Knowledge of IFRS, local tax and accounting laws

• Basic knowledge of Finance and Accounting end-to-end processes.

• Work experience with SAP FI/CO BW and typical other IT-tools as a plus.

• Self-disciplined with ability to work independently and under stress and pressure.

• Acts as a role model by being a strong team-player.

• Ability to adapt to new culture and people.

• Strong service orientation: strong commitment to customer orientation and understanding of customer needs and market trends.

• Strong communication skills

• Business proficient English
