Regulatory Reporting Manager

The Finance & Treasury Department plays a critical role in ensuring the organisation remains fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements. As the Manager of the Regulatory Reporting Team, you will take full ownership of the regulatory reporting function, providing leadership, governance, and strategic oversight across all prudential, statistical, and supervisory reporting obligations.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory reporting matters, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of submissions while driving continuous improvements to reporting processes, controls, systems, and data quality. The role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, IT, and external regulators.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the regulatory reporting framework, ensuring all regulatory and statistical returns are delivered accurately, completely, and within prescribed deadlines.
• Lead the preparation, review, validation, and submission of regulatory returns, including FINREP, COREP, BR06, AnaCredit, CCR, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison with supervisory authorities on regulatory reporting matters, managing regulatory queries, inspections, ad hoc requests, and follow-up actions.
• Drive the ongoing development and enhancement of the regulatory reporting function, ensuring processes remain robust, efficient, scalable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
• Establish and maintain a strong control environment over regulatory reporting, including governance frameworks, reconciliations, validation checks, and reporting policies.
• Work closely with Data teams to oversee data governance and data quality initiatives, ensuring consistency, completeness, and accuracy across reporting outputs.
• Lead the implementation of new regulatory requirements and reporting changes, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and ensuring effective delivery of regulatory projects.
• Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance to Executive Management on regulatory reporting developments, emerging risks, and reporting implications.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, software vendors, and consultants.
• Oversee regulatory reporting systems, data warehouses, and reporting tools, including system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and user acceptance activities.
• Produce and present management information, analysis, and ad hoc regulatory reporting insights to senior management and committees.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance regulatory reporting policies, procedures, methodologies, and documentation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.
• Ensure governance, risk management, and AML/CFT considerations are appropriately embedded within the regulatory reporting function.
• Remain abreast of regulatory developments and proactively assess their impact on the organisation, driving necessary changes and ensuring ongoing compliance.

Skills & Experience Required

• 3+ years' experience in regulatory reporting, finance, risk reporting, or prudential reporting within a banking or financial services environment.
• Proven ability to take ownership of a regulatory reporting function and manage reporting obligations in a regulated environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of CRR/CRD requirements, EBA reporting frameworks, ECB requirements, and MFSA Banking Rules.
• Sound knowledge of regulatory reporting governance, controls, data management, and reporting best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with experience handling large and complex datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with regulators and senior management.
• Strong leadership qualities with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
