Location: Ancaster, ON (onsite)
Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000 per year
Vacancy Type: Existing Position

As our next HSE Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in supporting Johnson Electric’s Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across the facility. Your expertise in occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, risk prevention, and continuous improvement will help create a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace while supporting operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Monitor and report on environmental, health, and safety performance metrics
• Analyze trends and identify root causes of safety incidents, injuries, spills, and environmental concerns
• Coordinate occupational injury claims management and return-to-work programs
• Partner with departments on facility design, equipment safety, fire prevention, and emergency preparedness plans
• Conduct facility inspections to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance
• Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks
• Participate in investigations involving incidents, injuries, and safety-related matters
• Support the preparation of documentation and evidence for investigations and legal matters when required
• Coordinate safety and environmental training programs and awareness initiatives
• Maintain health, safety, and environmental records, files, and documentation
• Review and maintain environmental permits and certifications to ensure compliance
• Support Joint Health & Safety and Environmental Committee activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety, and environmental performance
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management Systems, including IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
• Support corporate health, safety, and environmental policies and programs
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of Health, Safety, and/or Environmental experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Experience supporting workplace safety programs and compliance initiatives
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• High level of integrity, accountability, and results orientation
Bonus Points If You Have:
• CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/OHS management systems
• Experience supporting safety committees and audit activities
• Experience with return-to-work and injury management programs
• Manufacturing or automotive industry experience
