Public Works Maintenance Lead Worker

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Public Works Maintenance Lead Worker to oversee and perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction activities involving streets, roads, facilities, utilities, and other public infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on maintenance experience, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively coordinate and supervise field crews. 

The Public Works Maintenance Lead Worker is the lead class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks. Incumbents perform skilled work in the maintenance and repair of streets and sewer and water facilities. This classification is distinguished from the next lower classification of Public Works Maintenance Worker by the difficulty and complexity of assignments, and the performance of lead responsibilities

• At least two (3) years full time work experience in construction, maintenance, or related work.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possession of a valid Class C California license, with the ability to obtain a Class B license as needed or required for some positions. 

Only those applicants who meet the qualification standards of this position by the application filing deadline will be allowed to participate in the examination process.  Examination scores determine standing on Civil Service eligibility lists.  The City Manager, upon recommendation of the department head, will make the final selection and appointment from the established eligibility list.

The examination process may consist of the following parts: Application Package Review: Qualifying Only; Oral Exam 100% Weight Value. Candidates must earn a score of 70% or higher to be considered for the eligibility list.
