Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products, including features, benefits, and customer value propositions, to effectively communicate and position offerings.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with distribution channels, primarily welding supply distributors, positioning them as key agents of the company.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed established sales targets.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to customers and stakeholders.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and distributor open houses as required.
- Utilize Salesforce CRM as the primary tool to document sales activities, manage pipelines, and track opportunities.
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly expense reports in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to establish and achieve performance targets.
- Independently manage schedules and territory activities to maximize sales effectiveness.
- Maintain all assigned company equipment and property in good working condition.
- Conduct all business activities with honesty, integrity, and professionalism as a representative of the company.
- Ensure timely responses to emails, phone calls, and other communications.
- Maintain working knowledge of the welding industry, including processes, equipment, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support broader company objectives and customer needs.
- Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision to achieve goals.
Qualifications
- Canadian citizen with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively (approximately 80%) within Ontario; occasional overnight travel required.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one for travel to U.S. training and meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
- Strong understanding of sales principles, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
- Familiarity with the welding industry is considered an asset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Commitment to complying with all company policies, including vehicle and expense policies.
