Security Officer

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer to support evening and overnight security operations in Rifle, Colorado. This position is well suited for individuals who are dependable, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment through proactive patrols, access management, and professional customer service.

Working independently for much of the shift, you will conduct routine inspections, monitor security systems, respond to incidents, and accurately document daily activities while representing Citadel Security USA with professionalism and integrity.

Position Details

• Schedule: Friday to Monday | 6:00 PM - 4:00 AM
• Pay: Up to $19.00 Per Hour

Key Responsibilities

Security Patrols & Facility Inspections

• Perform scheduled foot and vehicle patrols throughout the assigned property.
• Inspect entrances, exits, gates, fencing, windows, parking areas, and other designated locations.
• Identify safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or unusual conditions requiring attention.
• Maintain a consistent and visible presence to discourage unauthorized activity.
• Help protect client property by remaining alert and observant throughout the shift.

Access Control & Surveillance

• Verify identification and authorize entry according to established site procedures.
• Register visitors and maintain accurate access records.
• Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and electronic access control equipment.
• Report suspicious behavior, unauthorized entry attempts, or policy violations immediately.
• Follow all client post orders and operational guidelines.

Incident Response

• Respond appropriately to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and other security-related events.
• Evaluate situations using sound judgment and follow established response procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors or emergency personnel when additional assistance is required.
• Secure affected areas until appropriate personnel arrive when necessary.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare complete and accurate daily activity reports.
• Document incidents, observations, and irregular activities in a timely manner.
• Utilize electronic reporting platforms, including TrackTik, Belfry, or similar systems.
• Maintain confidentiality while handling operational information and security documentation.

Professional Customer Service

• Assist visitors, contractors, employees, and authorized personnel courteously.
• Answer routine questions and provide directions when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly and professionally during all interactions.
• Represent Citadel Security USA with professionalism, respect, and excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of professional security experience.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic computer knowledge and electronic report-writing skills.
• Ability to remain calm while making sound decisions under pressure.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in security, military service, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Experience operating surveillance equipment and electronic access control systems.
• Familiarity with TrackTik, Belfry, or comparable workforce management platforms.
• Knowledge of patrol procedures, emergency response protocols, and post orders.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience resolving situations professionally.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation.
• Successfully pass any client-required drug screening.
• Complete all Citadel Security USA onboarding and required training.
• This position is unarmed and does not require a firearm license.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Conduct routine patrols in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Climb stairs and inspect multiple levels of assigned properties.
• React quickly during emergency situations.
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Maintain visual awareness and auditory alertness throughout the workday.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and additional hours when operational needs require.

Work Environment
