Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Pump Mechanics for projects located in or around Axis, AL. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $22-$25/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:
- Diagnose mechanical failures on industrial pumps and rotating equipment
- Inspect, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and related equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and complete pump overhauls
- Install, align, and commission new pumping equipment
- Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and repair documentation
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate service records
- Recommend repair options and replacement parts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and team members
- Assist with field service assignments as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience repairing industrial pumps or rotating equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience with centrifugal pumps, AODD pumps, positive displacement pumps, rotary lobe pumps, gear pumps, vacuum pumps, mechanical seals, bearing installation, laser alignment, vibration analysis, and predictive maintenance is preferred
- Industrial maintenance, millwright, or rotating equipment experience is highly valued
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
- Comfortable working in shop and industrial plant environments around machinery, noise, heat, cold, and dusty conditions
- Ability to safely operate forklifts; training provided if needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen upon hire
