Job Summary

This ten-week paid internship is located in Chicago, IL

What Are Your Responsibilities?  

Process Consultant Senior Interns are responsible for actively participating in HCSC’s formal internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge, and capabilities while providing meaningful experience supporting business objectives and member-focused solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams in both business and technical areas, the Process Consultant Senior Intern will contribute to project work, analyze information, and support the development of solutions that address organizational needs. The Process Consultant Senior Intern is responsible for learning and applying specific aspects of the organization's processes, programs, and technologies while demonstrating increasing independence and ownership of assigned deliverables. 

 

This role will also need to:  

• Own components of project work and deliverables with guidance from an assigned mentor and manager.  

• Conduct research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations that inform real business decisions.  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.  

• Support departmental initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience.  

• Develop and deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results, and recommendations.  

• Maintain complete confidentiality of company business and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable compliance policies.  

 

What Do You Need To Be Successful?  

• Knowledge of process flow charting a strong plus.  

• Knowledge of project management methodology is a plus.  

• Experience using quality improvement programs such as Total Quality Management (TQM) or Six Sigma is a plus.  

• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, innovation, creativity, and out-of-the-box thinking. 

• Enthusiasm to enhance your own professional and personal development with a high attention to detail and strong data quality mindset. 

• Entrepreneurial spirit and initiative to operate in ambiguous problem spaces and help define analytical approaches. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness. 

• Strong interest in continuous learning and sharing knowledge with peers and team members. 

• Passion and desire to learn the ins and outs of the health care industry and regulated environments. 

• Practical, well-developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, Access. 

 

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet? 

• Pursuing a master’s degree or higher-level degree with a focus in analytics, data science, statistics, information technology, information systems, or computer science. Other related fields with comparable experience may be considered. 

• Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028  

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.  

• Available for the full duration of the 10-week program.  

• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Flex employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. Management will have discretion to modify an employee's weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Base Pay Range

$22.54 - $40.31
