Role Summary
- Foundry is looking for an experienced Events and Media Community Manager to build and run an executive community and media pipeline from Germany’s senior IT leadership. This role will establish a repeatable process to manage the database and communications for the Top 300 CIOs in Germany, ensuring consistent engagement and participation across Foundry’s enterprise event portfolio.
- The successful candidate will also recruit and activate media contributors from within this CIO network, supporting event programming and contributing to Foundry’s media and content outputs. This is a highly stakeholder-facing role requiring strong communications expertise in a media environment, alongside a practical working knowledge of the German IT sector and the ability to engage CIO-level professionals professionally and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Top 300 CIO Community Management (Database + Communications Process)
- Design, implement, and maintain a structured process for managing the Top 300 CIO database in Germany.
- Ensure data quality, segmentation, consent/compliance, and ongoing maintenance of contact and engagement information.
- Own the communication workflow to ensure timely, relevant outreach to CIOs for event participation and content opportunities.
- Drive Executive Participation Across the Enterprise Event Portfolio
- Ensure CIOs participate as attendees, speakers, panelists, and contributors for Foundry’s Germany events, including:
- Hamburg IT Strategy Days
- CIO des Jahres
- IT Strategy Days Masterclass
- Custom Foundry events in Germany
- CIO Leadership Live
- Build and manage an engagement plan per event (timelines, outreach targets, speaker shortlists, confirmation tracking, follow-up).
- Recruiting, managing and active collaboration with existing community organizations and associations where CIOs, CDOs, CISOs, etc. are members (VOICE, MünchnerKreis, Bitkom, etc.)
- Speaker & Panelist Sourcing and Activation
- Identify suitable CIOs and enterprise leaders from the Top 300 pool and coordinate them through the speaker/panelist journey.
- Support internal planning with speaker availability, topic alignment, and requirements gathering (format, objectives, session needs).
- Recruit Media Contributors from the CIO Pool
- Recruit and onboard CIOs and select stakeholders from the community as media contributors (e.g., interviews, thought leadership, quotes, contributed articles, case-led perspectives, event-linked content).
- Work closely with Foundry media/content teams to align contributor needs, editorial direction, timelines, and approvals.
- Communications & Media Experience Execution
- Leverage experience in communications within a media environment to craft compelling outreach and contributor engagement.
- Coordinate preparation of contributor materials (briefs, angles, interview prep support) to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building
- Build strong, long-term relationships with CIOs and senior enterprise stakeholders.
- Maintain a professional, high-trust approach appropriate for executive audiences.
- Event Support & On-Site Presence
- Represent Foundry at events, support speaker logistics as needed, and ensure community engagement remains strong before, during, and after events.
- Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Track engagement metrics (attendance conversions, speaker/panelist confirmations, contributor responses, pipeline status).
- Provide recurring insights to leadership and continuously improve the community and communications process.
Skill Requirements
- Strong communications experience, including outreach, contributor recruitment, and/or editorial/communications coordination. Sales skills would be a benefit to the role
- Working knowledge of the German IT sector, including familiarity with the roles, priorities, and ecosystem relevant to CIO-level leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in event community management, executive engagement, or speaker/panelist sourcing.
- Experience working with databases/CRMs and segmentation workflows for B2B audiences (Top 300-level executive tracking experience is a strong advantage).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with CIOs and senior decision-makers.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple event cycles and communication timelines simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly for events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise event programs in Germany (CIO communities, IT strategy conferences, executive roundtables, or similar).
- Background in media/content development (e.g., journalism, corporate communications, editorial operations, podcast/video contributor coordination).
- Familiarity with compliance considerations for B2B marketing communications and consent frameworks in Germany/EU.
