JOB SUMMARY
A Billing Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the company’s billing process runs accurately, efficiently, and on time. The primary goal is to make sure customers are billed correctly, invoices are delivered promptly, and billing-related issues are resolved while supporting strong cash flow and customer satisfaction.
This position offers a opportunities to work with other teams such as Payroll, Customer Service, Pricing Strategy, FP&A, Credits and Collections, Accounting, and others to support the accuracy and completeness of client invoicing and strategic revenue initiatives.
What you will do
- Oversee the preparation and issuance of invoices to clients
- Ensuring billing is accurate and complies with contracts, pricing agreements, and company policies
- Implement and maintain billing systems and processes
- Partner with IT and business teams on system enhancements and automation initiatives
- Addresses billing issues with clients or internal customer service teams
- Document policies and procedures as necessary
- Build and implement internal controls to protect against billing errors and financial misstatements
- Support SOX controls and financial reporting accuracy where applicable
- Analyze trends with billings
- Partner closely with Operations, Customer Success, Revenue Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A
- Identifies opportunities to streamline business processes, minimize errors, and enhance the overall efficiency and accuracy of the billing function
- Manage billing specialists and analysts
- Train and develop team members
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Chartered Accountant preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Typically 8\+ years of experience in Billing Operations, Accounts Receivable, Order-to-Cash, or Revenue Operations
- Experience in Fortune 1000 size company (publicly traded) with high volume transactions and disciplined close process preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strong experience with Oracle Fusion applications including OSM, PIM, AR, Pricing Administration
- Demonstrate expertise in end-to-end billing lifecycle management, invoice generation, and customer billing support
- Strong understanding of subscription, recurring, and usage-based billing models
- Experience with SOX controls, audit support, reconciliations, and operational reporting
- Excellent analytical, time management, and stakeholder management skills
- Effective verbal and written communications
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and progressive environment
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Willingness to work across Time Zones (North America)
- Ability to follow up on pending issues, take initiative and solve problems
