The role:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Lead to join JLL in proud partnership with Australia Post to spearhead the expansion of our parcel locker network through strategic partnerships with key property owners, managers, and occupiers across Australia.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact initiative that enhances Australia Post's service offerings and reinforces its position as a leader in innovative logistics solutions. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, negotiating, and securing prime locations for parcel locker installations, contributing significantly to the growth and market presence of this iconic Australian brand.
The successful candidate will be required to attend the client office on-site in Surry Hills, Sydney or Richmond, Melbourne at least three days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
As Business Development Lead, you will drive the strategic expansion of our parcel locker network by:
- Leading Strategic Partnerships: Identify and engage with key property owners, managers, and occupiers to secure optimal locations for parcel locker installations
- Developing Compelling Proposals: Collaborate with Marketing and Operations teams to create tailored partnership proposals that highlight mutual benefits and deliver data-driven business cases
- Managing Cross-Functional Delivery: Coordinate with Network Operations to ensure all potential locations meet stringent suitability and safety criteria, and strategically prioritize roll-out plans
- Overseeing Performance: Provide direction to the Property Analyst team and maintain partial oversight of Transaction Management and Paralegal teams to ensure negotiation KPIs are met
- Driving Results: Achieve the ambitious target of successfully identifying locations that result in 20 parcel locker installations per week
- Maintaining Pipeline Health: Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting on pipeline and market segment performance, ensuring full transparency for the program team
- Building Relationships: Manage relationships with existing property partners to maintain and expand collaborations
- Staying Ahead: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and partnership opportunities to inform strategic direction
What You’ll Bring:
Essential Experience & Skills
- 5-10 years of experience in business development or partnerships, preferably in logistics or real estate
- Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence audiences at all levels, including executive C-Suite
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms in complex property deals
- Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate data and pipelines
- Advanced interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting complex contracts and leases
- Demonstrated ability to operate efficiently under pressure and meet tight operational and financial deadlines
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the capacity to implement innovative processes
- Strong project management skills capable of overseeing multiple location rollouts simultaneously
- Financial acumen including the ability to create and analyse business cases
- Leadership qualities demonstrating the ability to guide and motivate cross-functional teams
- Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle with ability and willing to travel locally or interstate as required (minimal interstate travel expected)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with logistics operations, particularly in last-mile delivery or parcel management
- Knowledge of property safety codes and regulations
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in technical or operational environments
