Description
Seeking a highly skilled Workday Integration Developer (official NJM job title) to design, develop, enhance, and support integrations between Workday and enterprise applications across HCM and Finance.
This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and reliable integration solutions using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP), and Report-as-a-Service (RaaS). The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise within the Workday ecosystem, a strong understanding of Workday security and tenant management, and a proven track record of implementing enterprise-grade integrations in complex environments.
The successful candidate will partner closely with HCM, Finance, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring integration performance, data integrity, compliance, and operational stability. This role also serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on integration architecture, development standards, testing strategies, and Workday best practices.
Job Responsibilities:
Integration Design & Development
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Workday integrations utilizing:
- Workday Studio
- Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
- Core Connectors
- Cloud Connect
- PECI/PICOF
- Workday Web Services (REST and SOAP APIs)
- Develop inbound and outbound integrations between Workday and external systems, including payroll providers, benefits vendors, financial systems, and other enterprise applications.
- Create and maintain XSLT transformations, XML schemas, and integration mappings to support complex business requirements.
- Design scalable integration architectures that follow Workday and enterprise integration best practices.
- Develop and maintain reusable integration components and standards to improve supportability and efficiency.
Workday Configuration & Security
- Configure and maintain Integration System Users (ISUs), Integration System Security Groups (ISSGs), domain security policies, and related security configurations.
- Build and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and Report-as-a-Service (RaaS) solutions supporting integration and reporting requirements.
- Partner with functional teams to align business process configurations, approvals, and event triggers with integration requirements.
Production Support & Operational Excellence
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues across production and non-production environments.
- Develop robust error handling, auditing, alerting, and recovery processes to ensure reliable operations.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to recurring issues.
- Support Workday tenant refreshes, migrations, and release activities, including impact assessments and regression testing.
- Ensure integration solutions meet organizational standards for security, compliance, performance, and data governance.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with HCM, Finance, IT, and external vendors to define requirements and deliver effective integration solutions.
- Participate in technical design reviews and provide recommendations for improving integration of architecture and operational processes.
- Mentor junior team members and promote Workday integration development best practices.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including design specifications, support procedures, configuration details, and data flow diagrams.
- Stay current with Workday releases, emerging technologies, and integration capabilities to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Workday Integration development experience.
- Advanced experience developing integrations using:
- Workday Studio
- EIB
- Core Connectors
- Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP)
- Strong expertise with XSLT, XML, XPath, and integration design patterns.
- Deep understanding of Workday HCM, Financial Management, and security architecture.
- Experience configuring and supporting ISUs, ISSGs, and Workday security frameworks.
- Experience building calculated fields, custom reports, and RaaS integrations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting Workday production environments and release management activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday Pro Integrations Certification.
- Experience with PECI, PICOF, Cloud Connect for Payroll, or other payroll-focused integrations.
- Experience with Workday Extend and Workday Orchestrate.
- Experience integrating Workday with payroll providers, benefits vendors, financial systems, and other enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica.
- Experience supporting global or multi-region Workday deployments.
- Knowledge of enterprise security, compliance, and data privacy requirements related to HCM and Finance systems.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Pay Range: $104,686-$121,638Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave. Employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
