Senior Workday Integration Consultant
Role Purpose
This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable integrations between Workday, payroll providers, finance systems, and third-party applications.
Working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and external partners, you will ensure seamless global data flows, support ongoing Workday rollout initiatives, and contribute to the development of future integration standards, architecture, and best practices that enable operational excellence across the organization.
Role Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services (WWS), REST/SOAP APIs, and PECI/PICOF technologies to support global business operations.
Build, configure, and support inbound and outbound integrations between Workday, payroll providers, finance systems, and other enterprise applications, ensuring seamless and reliable data exchange.
Monitor integration schedules, interfaces, system logs, and exception handling processes to maintain stable and reliable operations with minimal production incidents.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and support requests while minimizing business disruption.
Support global payroll integrations covering employee, compensation, benefits, tax, and time-related data, ensuring high levels of payroll data accuracy and successful reconciliation outcomes.
Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT teams, implementation partners, and external vendors to gather requirements and deliver scalable, business-aligned integration solutions.
Support Workday releases, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployments, and post-go-live stabilization activities, ensuring effective execution during payroll cycles and system updates.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, support procedures, and knowledge repositories to strengthen operational support and internal capability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing integration performance, scalability, security, and user satisfaction, while contributing to global integration standards and best practices.
Deliver integration enhancements, transformation projects, and rollout activities on schedule while operating independently within a lean international HRIS team and supporting strategic Workday expansion initiatives.
Role Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing and supporting Workday integrations in a complex enterprise environment.
Strong expertise in Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI/PICOF, XML/XSLT, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and Workday Web Services.
Proven experience integrating Workday with payroll providers, finance applications, and other enterprise systems.
Solid understanding of Workday HCM, payroll processes, data management, and reconciliation practices.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and support production integration environments while managing multiple priorities independently.
Knowledge of Workday security concepts, integration monitoring, SQL fundamentals, and data governance best practices.
Experience working within international, cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and external vendors.
Familiarity with middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Informatica, as well as Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies; Workday Integration Certification is advantageous.
Strong competency profile including a structured and solution-oriented mindset, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, self-leadership, project management capability, documentation expertise, payroll integration knowledge, integration support experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
