Description
The Income Maintenance Caseworker III (IMC III) – Long-Term Care/Special Assistance (LTC/SA) is a vital member of the Income Maintenance team. This position is responsible for determining and maintaining eligibility for Medicaid and Special Assistance programs, including Long-Term Care, Special Assistance, SA In-Home, CAP, and PACE. Duties include conducting interviews, processing applications and reviews, verifying client information, completing eligibility determinations, maintaining accurate case records, and ensuring compliance with state and federal policies.
The IMC III also reviews financial resources and transfers, processes estate recoveries and recoupments, completes required CAP and Special Assistance reviews, responds to client inquiries, and coordinates with clients, medical providers, facilities, and other agencies. Additional responsibilities include compiling and entering information into NC FAST, attending required training, assisting with hearings and investigations, and providing support during emergency situations.
Must be available to work after normal business hours and during emergency situations.
- Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or
- Graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact , which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
One (1) year experience as Income Maintenance Caseworker II required.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
